the Enchanter
The Enchanter is written for Grade level 3 Wind Ensemble / Concert Band with Percussion.
It is meant to sound like the magic we find in nature. It has many exposed sections of small instrument groups to evoke a sense of changing scenes as one walks through the woods. Optional solo and tutti cues are plentiful, allowing the conductor to choose the best path for the sound of their ensemble. Playing tempi are noted for the song to be performed in 3:30 though are flexible. The opening scene sounds lovely in a fast andante or an ambling adagio. There are occasional optional notes individual parts per the range of the players and suggestions on percussion doubling if played by a small number of musicians.
